Ted A.Gillespie Artist/ Alzheimer's Activist

Ted is a native Hoosier; born and raised in Indiana, he attended the American Academy of Art, Chicago,Ill. where he studied watercolor under Irving Shapiro, later attended the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. in the 1970's. His artwork has grown from traditional watercolor to a dreamlike surrealism, taking on a different adventure and energy to each viewer. What one might see as death in a painting has been seen as birth to another. His studies have included Metaphysics, Native American traditions, Holistic Health and he has earned a degree in Naturology from the American Institute of Holistic Theology. Asked about his work, Ted replies “I basically put down on paper what everyone has felt at one time or another, good or bad.Using vivid colors, symbols and form he captures the celebrations and adversities of our daily lives.

Today he is a painter, father, and advocate for those fighting Alzheimer's and other Dementia's diseases.
Ted resides in St Louis Missouri, painting from his studio in a historic brewery, dedicating his life to painting and helping those fighting memory loss.

Don't be surprised to see him painting on the side of the road in your state!!
